The 20th anniversary of Art-A-Whirl has finally arrived!

If you haven’t visited Franconia in the City @ Casket yet, this is the perfect opportunity to see the space, meet the artists, and browse fine art.

Not familiar with Art-A-Whirl? Here’s what you need to know:

Presented by the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA), Art-A-Whirl is an open studio tour in Northeast Minneapolis. It’s a great opportunity to tour private artist studios and galleries, connect with the artists, and purchase original artwork. Over the last 20 years, it has become the largest open studio tour in the country. This event is free and open to the public.

Franconia in the City @ Casket is one of over 50 locations in Northeast Minneapolis participating in this year’s Art-A-Whirl. During open gallery hours you can puruse Amy Toscani’s latest exhibition This Just In, as well as, our outdoor courtyard filled with sculptures from several Franconia alumni. We’ll have family-friendly events for kids of all ages, and even some special guests to get you groovin’. Here’s what you can look forward to:

Friday, May 15:

5 PM – 10 PM

Open Gallery Hours and Bonfire

with special guest: PeeWee Dread Reggae Band

 Saturday, May 16 

12 PM – 5 PM

Open Gallery Hours, Spin Art, and Face Paint

with special guest: Foci – Minnesota Center for Glass Arts

Sunday, May 17

12 PM – 4 PM

Open Gallery Hours, Spin Art and Face Paint
